Text Message Program

How residents are enrolled, what we send, and how to stop.

HavenHOA is software that homeowners associations, condominium associations, and property-management companies use to run their communities. Text messaging is one of the ways a community reaches the people who live in it. Every message is sent by a community to its own residents; HavenHOA sends nothing of its own to residents, and no phone number is ever bought, sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing.

Who receives messages

Only people with a resident portal account at a community that licenses HavenHOA: homeowners, residents, household members, board members, and management staff of that specific association. This is a closed system. There is no public sign-up, no purchased list, and no way for someone outside a member community to receive a message.

How a resident is enrolled

A mobile number that you or your association provides enrolls you in that community's informational, transactional, and service text alerts. Marketing texts are sent only with your separate prior express written consent, and HavenHOA sends none today.

In practice, most residents enter their own number. A resident signs in to their community's portal, opens Profile, and enters a mobile number. Directly beside that field, the same form shows which categories of alert are on and the messaging disclosure below. Saving the form records the date and time of that choice against the resident's record.

The disclosure shown on that screen reads:

“Text alerts go to any mobile number on file for you. Switch off any category below, or reply STOP to a text to stop them all. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.”

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of buying or using HavenHOA, and a resident who receives no texts keeps full access to everything in the portal.

What we send

Community announcements, past-due dues balances, monthly statements, maintenance and work-order updates, amenity reservations, and architectural or violation notices. Message frequency varies with what is happening in the community. Message and data rates may apply.

Typical messages read like this:

Maple Grove HOA: Pool closed Saturday
The pool will be closed Sat 9/6 for resurfacing.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Maple Grove HOA: Past-due balance
Your account shows a past-due balance of $250.00 as of 9/1.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any message to stop texts entirely. The opt-out takes effect at the carrier and is recorded against the number, so it applies to every community that number appears in and survives any later change to the resident's record. Reply START to begin receiving messages again.

Reply HELP for help, or write to support@gethavenhoa.com. Residents can also switch off any individual category, or all of them, from the Notifications section of their profile at any time.

Your information

We provide text messaging originator opt-in data and consent to communications providers solely as necessary to deliver messages, maintain consent and opt-out records, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell text messaging originator opt-in data or consent, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

The full terms are in our Terms of Service (section 16) and our Privacy Policy (section 6, Text Messaging).
