Common questions about billing
When does the 1.5% fee get charged?
The fee is deducted automatically at the time of each payment via Stripe's application fee mechanism. Residents pay their dues, Stripe processes the transaction, 1.5% goes to HavenHOA, and the remaining 98.5% deposits directly into your HOA's bank account. You never see the fee — it's handled entirely in the background.
What if we don't collect dues online?
You're never charged anything. The 1.5% fee applies only to payments processed through HavenHOA's Stripe integration. If your community collects dues by check or cash, your platform fee is $0. You still get access to every other feature — accounting, elections, tickets, documents, and more.
Are there any hidden fees, volume caps, or per-user charges?
No. There are no monthly subscription fees, no per-resident charges, no setup fees, no storage limits, and no volume caps. The only fee is 1.5% on dues and payments processed through Stripe. Period.
What are Stripe's processing fees?
Stripe charges their standard processing fees (typically 2.9% + $0.30 for cards, 0.8% capped at $5 for ACH) on top of our 1.5%. HavenHOA's settings allow you to configure a surcharge so residents cover these processing costs — or you can absorb them. Either way, your 98.5% stays your 98.5%.
Can we cancel or switch platforms anytime?
Yes, anytime. There are no annual contracts or lock-in periods. If you cancel, your data remains accessible for 30 days to export. We don't hold your community's data hostage.
